Phaili Hui Hai sapanon Ki Baahein....

Phaili Hui Hai Sapanon Ki Baahein- Lata Mangeshkar- Film House No.44 (1955)- Lyrics Sahir Ludhianvi- Music S.D.Burman.

House No.44 , released in 1955, was a film about a youth trapped in sinister world of crime, along with his love and his efforts to separate themselves from it. Ashok (Dev Anand) is a petty thief, who was given by forbearing father of Nimmo (Kalpana Karthik). Ashok is smitten by the charm and beauty of Nimmo.

Meanwhile Ashok steals a pocket of a man, named Sundar .The man turns out to be a member of a gang and appreciating the dexterity of Asahok's pick pocketing skills, he offers Ashok a job for money. Ashok takes up the job of sinister Gangster Kaptaan (K.N.Singh). Kaptaan is anxious for replacement of his member Jebu (Rashid Khan) and his girlfriend. He finds it in Ashok, but still requires replacement for female replacement.

During a theft in Railway shed, Sundar accidentally kills the chowkidar, who turns out to be Nimmo's father. The alone and despondent Nimmo is perfect candidate for the female replacement the Kaptaan seeks for. Nimmo is engaged for occasional errands in the gang. During such underhand errand of stealing a necklace, Nimmo and Ashok come face to face. Ahok flirts with her. Nimmo also after initial resistance, reciprocates his tender feelings.

The love has entered in her desolate world and it has played miracle. She is ecstatic about the tender feelings and the rainbow colours of dreamy world, this paradise of love is ushering in her lonely life. She is in cloud 9

(The gates of dreamland has been flung open. Let's have a walk to this faraway paradise together with hand in hand. The road that takes us there is our road to inviting destiny. Let us get lost under the canopy of clouds and mystique world of intoxicating love. Those will echo the warm and fond feelings of love nestling in our longing  hearts.

Let's swing on the undulating breezes experience the beauty of glowing sky and twinkling stars. Let us leave behind troubles and miseries of world, and zoom in utter joy. There is now no turning back. The gates of dreamland are flung open.....)

A mellifluous song that takes to the different, surreal world. The lyrics, music and singing are in complete unison capable of spinning a magical web around the listener !! Lata's honey laced voice completely blends with the expressions and lucid undulating movements of ecstatic Kalpana Karthik  lost in love on screen. Truly a soothing and soulful musical gem !!
