After the release of film Nagina 1951, another film, the songs of which were composed by Shankar Jaikishan in the same year, was Film Kali Ghata. As in Nagina , the music of this film also got fair share of Lata Mangeshkar's voice. Kishore Sahu was writer, hero and Producer Director of this film. The production Banner was Hindustan Films. Composer Khemchand Prakash had given music to earlier films of Hindustan Films like "Sawan aaya Re", "Rimzim", and "Bijli". By the time, Bijlee was released , Khemchand Prakash was very ill, and soon he passed away. The music of this film, therefore was composed by Shankar Jaikishan. SJ's music in this film was dominated by Lata Mangeshkar. Lata sang all female songs in the film....

All these songs were sweet. The combination of Lata's honey laden voice and SJ's lilting tunes was heady and magical. Lata excelled in both happy, lilting and light songs as well as in melancholic songs. In fact, the sad songs by her like "Unke Sitam ne Loot Liya" and "Ham Unki Baatein Yaad karenge" are one of the best musical Gems by Lata.
The alaps, soft instrumentation and the composition in this Lata Rafi Duet is simply great.. Cannot resist listening this song again and again .. This was the time, when the great four - Shailendra, Hasrat Jipuri, Shankar and Jaikishan were at their best and came out with one great creation after another at rapid rate .. They were unique ..The radiant and beautiful Bina Rai, ever smiling, while singing almost all her happy songs adds the beauty to happy and joyful moments. She performs with her amazing and everlasting smiles which remain etched in our memories always. Her talent is such that she doesn't require to dance at all just keep smiling with her angelic face and with moon in her eyes. that's more than enough . Lata's honey soaked voice ,Bina's fresh exceptional beauty makes this song unforgettable. Incidentally, this is Bina rai's debut performance and it is commendable.
