Tadbir Se Bighadi Hui Taqdir Bana Le

Tadbir Se Bighdi Hui Taqdir Bana Le- Geeta Dutt- Film Baazi 1951- Lyricist Sahir ludhianvi-Music S.D.Burman.

Till the decade of early fifties, the genre of Club Dance Songs was limited to stunt films, which invariably had pistol or sword wielding hero. The club dancer in such film had the task of luring the hero and seducing him. However such stunt films did not have dignity and reputation. Therefore club dance songs were confined to stunt films.
The credit to introduce club dance songs in mainstream social films goes to film "Sangram" (1950). Ashok Kumar was the hero. The club dance song " Dil Diya Hai aapne Meherbani Aapki", sung by Lata Mangeshkar in this film was however not so popular, hence it escaped the listener's attention.

Film Baazi , which was released in 1951, was the first film directed by Guru Dutt independently, as per the commitment by Dev to Guru Dutt during their days of struggle.. It was inspired from 1946 Hollywood film "Gilda". In the film, the club dance songs , sung by Geeta Dutt, were given more prominence than the heroine's ( Kalpana Karthik)songs.

Geeta Dutt sang total six songs in this film, out of which three were club dance songs:

1. Tadbir Se Bighdi Hui.
2. Suno Gajar Kya Gaaye
3. Dekh akeli Mohe Barkha Sataye

Later on Geeta Dutt sang many club songs, but it all started from film Baazi. All the club songs in Baazi were raging hit. Apart from Geeta Dutt's sonorous voice, the due credit should be given Geeta Bali's naughty expressions through her beautiful eyes and facial expressions. She induces the Gambler Madan (Dev Anand) to be the master of his own destiny, have confidence and play the stakes.

Sahir wrote the lyrics and wanted the song to be sung in a mujra style. Burman Dada would have none of it and composed a jazzy tune. Dada also asked Geeta Roy (Dutt) to sing it. During the rehearsal Sahir didn’t like it one bit and went to complain to the director Guru Dutt, who asked Dada what the matter was. Dada asked Guru Dutt to decide who was the music director, “Sahir or I?” Guru Dutt conveyed to Sahir that Dada will do as he wishes. Sahir then and there decided that he will never write again for S. D. Burman, but changed his mind after the song became super-hit and the film too was a big draw for the audience who used to return again and again.”

Lyrics of the song:
