Thandi Hawayen Laharake Aaye- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Naujawan 1951- Lyricist-Sahir Ludhianvi-Music S.D.Burman.

Film Sharda , released in 1942 was the first film under A.R.Kardar Productions. The association of Kardar Productions and composer Naushad started from this picture and lasted for a decade till film Jadoo 1951. During the decade, Naushad was an integral part of music in Kardar Production films.

However, first time since 1942, Naushad was not given the task of composing music for film A.R.Kardar's film Naujawan , which was released 1951. The job was given to S.D.Burman. Later on many other composers like Ghulam Mohammad ( Dil E nadan), O.P.Nayyar (Bap Re Bap),Roshan (Barati), and Vasant Desai (Do Phool), composed music for A.R.Kardar films. Kardar had good study of poetry, music and literature. He employed the services of eminent lyricists like Majrooh and Shakeel Badayuni. Lyricist Sahir's talent flourished under him. The association Sahir and S.D.Burman started from this film. The pleasant lyrics, joyful rendering of the song by Lata and wonderful honey soaked music of S.D.Burman has made this song immortal in the history of Hindi Film Music.

There is an interesting tale behind the song. During the rehearsal of the song, S.D.Burman was not satisfied about the song. He sensed that something was missing. Although the tune was excellent, he felt that it could still be made sweeter. But How? He was confused and stopped the recording of the song. Composer C.Ramchandra, by some coincidence, happened to come to the studio. He asked S.D., why recording was stopped. S.D. Burman narrated the reason. Thereafter C.Ramchandra suggested the addition of introductory aalap " La La La Laa", and Lo behold, the hither to seemingly flat composition sprang to life. C.Ramchandra's contribution to the song was also one of the reasons to make the song immortal.
