Ghar Aaya Mehman Koi- Lata Mangeshkumar- Film Udan Khatola 1955-Lyrics Shakeel Badayuni- Music Naushad.

Udan Khatola released in 1955, was a romantic film, which was later on dubbed in Tamil as " Vaanaratham". The songs were penned by Shakeel Badayuni and music was given by composer Naushad. 

A stormy night on sea, a ship in distress, a lone survivor escaping from the sinking ship embarking on a God forsaken island, where he meets a an elderly man (Dilip Kumar). Through his halting ramblings to the survivor, the story of the film unfolds. 

Several years back Kashi ( young Dilip Kumar), is travelling by a plane which crashes on a remote island. Soni (Nimmi) find him injured and unconscious. She tends him with her brother Hira (Agha). True to the Bollywood tradition she finds the stranger attractive and begins to adore him. The law of the land however forbids any stranger to be on the island for more than eight days. It requires Queen's special permission to stay beyond this limit. As all the ways are blocked , the stranger could not be sent back. Through a priest,who happens to be Soni's father, Kashi visits the Queen Raj Rani (Surya Kumari). Before this viewers are informed about the smoke belching God of the land. It will blow fire if the sins villagers increase. As a result, entire land will be flooded to extinction, unless a human sacrifice is offered.

The meeting with Queen occurs in presence of a Sardar ,Shago (Jeevan), who has eye on Soni, who obviously is not interested in him but stranger Kashi. The queen is smitten by the handsome Kashi, and grants permission to stay albeit with a condition that he should not get involved in any young woman. It is too late for that, as Kashi is already taken by the charm and beauty of Soni.

That night, Soni is elated with the prospectus of stranger's prolonged stay. She is deeply in love with him and celebrates his arrival with this beautiful ,melodious song , along with her girlfriends.

( A stranger has arrived in my life and he has occupied my entire world. First he entered in my eyes an then through eyes in my heart.As a result my life is now studded with stars. Standing far away, gazing at me affectionately, he is making me blush. He expresses his feelings through the fond gestures. His warm glances are making my heart beat harder and my eyelids flutter with longing. The naughty stranger is aware that I am an innocent,village girl, who was hitherto oblivious of such love  feelings, yet he keeps me haunting. ) 

Nice lyrics by Shakeel, Lata's sweet voice, a bouncy, rhythmic & lilting tune of composer Naushad and on screen Nimmi's undulating, lucid movements accompanied by melodious Chorus by beautiful dancer women makes the song audio-visual treat.
