Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai, Teri Ek Boond Ke Pyase Hum....

Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai- Manna Dey- Film Seema 1955- Lyrics Shailendra- Music Shankar Jaikishan.

Producer Director Amiya' Chakraborty's film Seema , released in 1955 proved to be a launching vehicle for actress Nutan Samarth, who later became a legendary figure in Hindi Film world, recognised by her sheer acting prowess. In Seema also she gave mature and subtle performance at the age of 19 years. The character of wronged orphan Gauri Nutan) is a fulcrum around whom every character of the film revolves. Be it her wicked aunt, her uncle, Banke (C.S.Dubey), who has evil eye on her, Ashok (Balraj Sahani) a Manager of a Anathalay where Gauri is interned. The script follows Gauri always wherever she goes, until she gets reformed under the able guidance and influence of Manager Ashok.
To his credit, Director Amiya Chakravarty was one of those filmmakers who looked sympathetically at the sufferings of women in Indian society and consequently, frequently gave roles of substance to the women in his films – be it, Nimmi in Daag, Usha Kiron in Patita and Nutan in Seema.  Seema is the film that first brought to the fore Nutan’s great ability as an actress. Till then none of her films had really offered her a role of such depth and a character that was so finely etched and Nutan gives it all she’s got. It was the perfect comeback vehicle for her as she had taken a short sabbatical to study at the Swiss Finishing School La Chatelaine. In Seema, Nutan gives us glimpses of what a thinking actress she was. Her face is a myriad of expressions and what she could say with one simple gesture or glance what most actresses were unable to say in a whole lot of dialogues. It is a brilliant performance and went on to win Nutan the first of her five Filmfare Awards.
All the songs of Seema, composed by Shankar Jaikishan were raging hit, but the piece de resistance is the song " Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai" by Manna Dey complementing Balraj Sahani on screen. The song comes in the film when Gauri, driven out by her uncle and aunt, is wandering on the street in helpless state of mind. In this desolate and melancholic state, the strains of the song float over....
