Ja Ne Na Dil Ki Lagi

Ja Ne Na Dil Ki Lagi- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Buzdil 1951- Lyricist Shailendra- Music S.D.Burman

The music of film Bahaar was composed by S.D.Burman and it's music was dominated by Shamshad Begum. However, the music of Film Buzdil , releasd in 1951, which also was composed by SDB, was dominated by Lata's voice. Lata had sung following songs in the film:

1  Rote Rote Gujar Gayee Raat Re
2. Jane Na dil ki Lagi
3. Jhan Jhan Jhan Jhan payal Baze
4. Dar lage Duniyase Balma (With Talat)

Apart from the song " Majhdhar mein Kashti Doob Gayee", sung by Surinder Kaur, all songs had Lata's voice. Like "Rote Rote Gujar Gayee Raat Re", this song is also sad one, depicting the tormented mind of heroine after the heartbreak. Lata's soft voice, Shailendra's powerful and apt lyrics and beautiful heart wrenching tune of Burmanda makes the song memorable one.

Lyrics of the song:

Lata sings "Mai Albeli Rumjhum Rumjhum"

Lata's another solo in this film is "Mai Albeli Rumjhum Rumjhum", is equally fascinating and hummable and sweet. Shailendra had a knack for including words such as "rumjhum rumjhum" in his songs, making them lovelier. S D Burman was a master at creating beautiful tune giving full justice to the lilting lyrics.Adorable is the word for this Lata song, so fitting for the rosebud-like fresh Nimmi-- with moon in her eyes and youthfullness in her every movement, petite, pure and pretty in her playful gaiety. When the singer was Lataji back in those days, the songs became extra sweet because of her honey dripping voice.. Nimmi, who had carved a niche for herself in such roles, does the rest by adding her sweetness, charm, and innocence to this lovely song brimming with youthfulness. Truly a song of dreamland of ever charming youth !!
