Madan Mohan's music becomes mesmerizing particularly in Lata's solo songs , that too in sad songs. Lata's honey dripped voice brings out the beauty and strength. The gazals sung by her under Madan Mohan's baton have attained the status of immortal and memorable music.

Simmilar was the case of Talat Mahmood and Madan Mohan association. Like Lata, Talat played an important role to make MM's music rich. His velvety smooth voice particularly suited for Gazal based music for which Madan Mohan was particularly adept. It used to bring out the pangs of lost love, the grief and distress of tormented mind, the angush of separation. In film Ada 1951, Talat had only one song ("Jinhe Dilmein Basana Chaha Tha").In film "madhosh 1951", as well Madan Mohan had given only one song to Talat Mahmood.

Talat, however sang both songs with ardent fervour and gave full justice to RMA khan's profoundly disturbing lyrics and off course Madan Mohan's heart wrenching music and imbibed the sullen mood that his songs typically demand. Naturally when three geniuses combine, no wonder the resultant product acquires the quality of eternal immortal melody, that keeps engulfing the listener's mind with sentimental ambiance

Madhosh was romantic film fashioned on the like of Romeo & Juliet, ending into tragedy, after lot of twists and turns in love triangle of Raya (Manhar Deasi), Soni (Meena Kumari) and  Raina( Usha Kiran).

after Raya is on the run from police, for accidental murder by him, Soni has no option left but to marry Anand ( Actor name unknown). When soni leaves with Anand, the devastated Raya though this song, pours out the agony of separation tormenting him.
