Dilmein Samaa Gaye Sajan- Talat Mahmood and Lata Mangeshkar-Film Sangdil 1952-  Lyrics Rajendra Krishna- Music Sajjad Hussain.

Sangdil , released in 1952, under the banner of Talwar Films, was a film replete with romance, suspense, separation. It was loosely based on Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, published in 1847. The lead pair was Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. The songs were penned by Rajendra Krishna and Music was given by Sajjad Hussain. The plot of the film is fairly adapted from Jane Eyre.
At the outset, the story of the film goes like this....
Shankar's father is a wealthy man and Kamala is is his best friend's daughter. While dying the friend had requested Shankar's father to take custody of Kamala and her inheritance. Kamala is badly treated by Shankar's mother. However she has friends as well, Shankar and Dayi Maa. (Leela Chitnis). Shankar's father at the time of dying, extorts from Shankar  an assurance that he will take care of Kamala. A few days later, Shankar's mother sends a man for taking Kamala away to an ashram, but Kamala escapes and lands up in a religious community and becomes Jogan. Years later Kamala grows into a jogan (Madhubala). She however has not forgotten her childhood love for Shankar. One day, they visit a country mansion to perform pooja in Harvest celebration Fest.
On the other side, Shankar grows up to become young Thakur (Dilip Kumar), living in the very country mansion ,where Kamala is scheduled for visit. He is flirting with Mohini (Shammi), but has not forgotten his childhood sweetheart. One day , while trying to save Thakur from fire in the mansion, Kamala finds the idol of Shankar, which she had given to Shankar in the childhood, as the token of their childhood love. She immediately recognizes Thakur as her childhood sweetheart Shankar, but hides her identity. The intensity and passion at which she hugs the idol, is not lost on Thakur, and he also feels that Kamala is no one else but his Childhood love. However, since Shankar is flirting with his would be bride Mohini, Kamala thinks it inappropriate to meddle in their affair. She therefore hides her identity. Shankar is under impression that in Kamala's world he has no place. He leaves her and goes away in his jagir for some inspection. His real intent is to remain far away from Kamala and avoid the complications.
In order to gauge Kamala's feelings about him , Shankar comes back in the disguise of an astrologer to predict her future. During the conversation ,he learns that Kamala has not forgotten him and she keeps remembering their childhood love. He then casts aside his disguise. Two lovers unite again. They are over joyous and sing this song....

When the two love birds unite, for them all the things in the world look nice and marvelous. Here also Shankar and Kamala unite aftter long period of separation. They are overwhelmingly delighted. They feel that their love has transgressed all the barriers of this material world. Their never ending love has at last compelled this world to beat a retreat. Their love has won  !!
In each other's exhilarating company, they enjoy the the cool and soothing  breezes and blossoming of flowers surrounding them. All the things suddenly have assumed new invigorating dimensions. This signals the end of their sorrow filled desolate lives. Everything from Sky, the landscape,  the flowers , the soothing breezes, and the gathering clouds is adding to the  pleasant ambiance, and their hearts cannot remain oblivious to it. Earlier their life was engulfed in grief and angst, but now every thing has transformed. The reunion with the beloved has filled their hearts with sparkling laughter....
Right from the start, the lyrics sets the mood of song. Rajendra Krishna's words effectively depict the feelings of overwhelmingly joyous love birds reunited. As usual Sajjad Hussain has delivered a stellar performance. His adeptness of composing music for sad as well as happy songs is commendable. Both Talat Mahmood and Lata Mangeshkar , with their smooth and velvet voice , rendered the song beautifully.
The romance between Dilip Kumar and Madhubala started during the filming of Tarana and was in full blossom during Sangdil's shooting. Look , how they enjoy each other's company in this song. The chemistry between them is palpable . Their affectionate glances, the sparkling laughter, gentle touches, the love emanating  from their  deep embraces... all these things make this song an  Audio visual treat.
