Film Dil-E-Nadan , released in 1953, was one of films in which Talat tried his luck as an actor. Other prominent films he acted in were  Waris 1954, Ek Gaon Ki Kahani 1957 and Sone Ki Chidiyan 1958 and Lala rukh 1958However success eluded him as an actor, hence he concentrated on his singing career. As a result, listeners were lucky to get a genius singer with unique, inimitable style.
Story of film depicts a love triangle. Mohan (Talat Mahmood), aspires for career in music. This is not kindly looked by his father who is petition writer. Mohan leaves home ,meets Kamini (Peace Kanwal) and her father. Kamini's father helps Mohan  to become a music Director. Kamini and Mohan fall in love. Her older sister Asha (Shyama) is also smitten by Mohan. She lets Kamini know her love for Mohan. Kamini retreats and arrange Mohan-Asha marriage. This marriage however turns sour, with Asha finding Mohan's music boring. She also finds about Kamnini-Mohan affair. In an enraged state, she trips the staircase and dies. Kamini-Mohan reunite. Predictable ending isn't it ? One angle of triangle surrendering life in lieu of welfare of remaining two angles. Here in this song , while Mohan is singing ,both sisters ,madly in his love crooning with him.
