Bholi Surat Dil Ke Khote- Ram Chitalkar and Lata Mangeshkar- Film Albela 1951- Rajendra Krishna- Music C.Ramchandra.

The film which fetched C.Ramchandra the fame as eminent composer of popular music was the film Albela, released in 1951. Bhagvan Dada was Prodicer and Director of the film.Till the release of Albela, Bhagwan Dad's image was limited to producer Director of stunt films and as a comedian. C.Ramchandra used to give music to these stunt films as Annasaheb, since these films had no reputation as that of social films. C.Ramchandra wanted Bhagwan Dada to come out of stunt film. He advised Bhagwan Dada to produce a social film, so that the former can give music in his name as C.Ramchandra. Thus was born the film Albela in 1951, which gave Bhagwan Dada a new identity as a dancing actor. In this song also, one can see his unique style of dancing. Vivacious looking Geeta Bali complements his dance with naughty facial expressions. 

There are hidden tales behind every song in Albela. This song also has a tale. In Bhangi localities, there is a custom for expressing grief after the death of anyone in their society, by playing Dhol. This Dhol is played with certain appealing rhythm. Somewhere C.Ramchandra heared this playing of Dhol. He was fascinated by the rhythm and incorporated it in this song. Tne tune of the song was set on this peculiar rhythm. one can listen a sound of Pipani, in the song. The fast tune of this pipani was also lifted from the traditional Marathi folk tune of Tembalai Devi near Kolhapur.

This song therefore became fast and racy. Bhagwan Dada and Geeta Bali's smooth, undulating dancing movements catch the fast rhythm of the song very well. No wonder then, this song was chart buster in those days and remains popular even after 60 years. it is truly a treat to watch and listen.
