Ham Hai Tere Diwane Gar Tu Bura Na Mane

Ham Hai Tere Diwane- Talat Mahamood, Geeta Dutt- Film Shabistan 1951- Lyricist Qamar Jalabadi- Music C.Ramchandra.

Talat Mahamood's singing career started from 1950. Around 1955, a new trend of fast songs with racy rhythm started in hindi film songs. Talat's velvet voice with it's unique queer  was considered ideal for slow, tender and sad melodies. His voice was adjudged unfit for fast racy songs by many composers. Talat himself did not agree to this reasoning. He cited the songs he rendered under composer C.Ramchandra, who was pioneer of such racy songs. Talat's songs in Film Shabistan, the music of which was composed by C.Ramchandra, are testimony to his contention. Talat sang three songs in this film..

1. Ham hai tere Diwane, gar Tu Bura na Mane
2. Hai ye Mausam Bahar.
3. Kaho Ek Bar Muze Tumse Pyar Hai

These songs have fast rhythm and Talat very effectively catches it.especially in the song " Hai ye Mausam Bahar", Geeta had sung it in unimaginably racy rhythm and Talat hasd very well complimented her. This shows the verstality of Talat's voice.

However, Talat did not get much opportunity to sing such racy songs.C.Ramchandra himself used his voice only for slow and tender melodies suiting to his soft voice. Although the music of this film was composed by C.Ramchandra, the music of one song " Ek Shama Do parwane" was given by Madan Mohan. Due to dispute between Director Vibhuti Mishra and C.Ramchandra, the latter disassociated from the project after giving music for seven songs. The remaining song was composed by Madan Mohan.
Although Naseem Bano ( Mother of actress Saira Bano), was heroine of this film, prominence was given to dance songs of actress Cuckkoo. Inspired by Cuckkoo's dancing prowess, a new dancer made her debut in the dance songs of the film as one of the background dancer. In the coming year, she was to reign the hindi film Industry in the capacity of prominent dancer, without whom no producer can think of incorporating the dance songs in his film. The name of the dancer was Helen....!!

The humming and first two lines of this song sung by C.Ramchandra. Talat's voice starts thereafter.
Lyrics of the song :
