The song "Sham Dhale Khidki Tale" is the one of the seven songs in which Bhagwan Dada by his unique gyrating style had enhanced the beauty and sweetness of the song. The gorgeous and naught Geeta Bali had also complemented to the general appeal of the song. No wonder then that when one talks about Albela the first song that comes to the mind is this one. In other words, the song has become a signature of film Albela.

However the song was not written originally for this film. It was written for for Film "Ghungroo" under the banner of Filmkar Productions, and whose lead pair was Omprakash and Sumitradevi. The songs for the film were written by Rajendra Krishna and music by C.Ramchandra.

Since Bhagwan proficient in music and related fields, Rajendra Krishna used to show the lyrics of every song to him for his approval. He showed the lyrics of this song to Bhagwan. Bhagwan immediately sensed the inbuilt rhythm in the lyrics and told Rajendra Krishna that Omprakash will not be able to give justice to the song ,since he was not accomplished dancer, although being a good actor. Rajendra Krishna also agreed, and this song ,which was originally written for film "Ghungroo", was taken in Albela. And what a song it turned out to be. Bhagwan and vivacious looking naughty Geeta Bali's dance movements, the tender, sweet voice of Lata and simple but appealing lyrics has made this a best song of the film.
