Chanda Khele Aankhmichouli- Geeta Dutt-Film Jogan 1950-Lyricist Pt.Indra Chandra-Music Bulo C.rani.

In film "Do Bhai", which was released in 1947, composer S.D.Burman gave seven songs to Geeta Dutt. For a newcomer and struggler, this was a great opportunity. The music of Do Bhai was therefore totally dominated by Geeta Dutt. In film "Jogan" , which was released in 1950, composer Bulo C rani again reposed his faith on Geeta Dutt. Out of total seventeen songs, Geeta Dutt sang thirteen songs solo. So complete was the domination.

Althouth the music of film "do Bhai" was not popular, the songs of Jogan became raging hit. All the Geeta's songs were popular. Bulo C Rani did not get such popularity afterwards, hence this film may be considered as pinnacle of his career.

The story line goes like this.Orphaned at a young age, Vijay[Diip kumar] lives with his Grandmother, in a village and is an atheist. He is drawn towards Meeradevi[Nargis], a Bhajan singing devotee, but she not only rejects him but also asks him not to come near her. When she falls ill, he makes inquiries about her, both start to converse and are drawn toward each other. She confides in him about her wealthy childhood, that was the time she was called by her real name, Surabhi[Nargis], and how her brother had coerced her into marrying a much older man - compelling her to forsake all materialistic bonds and becoming a Sanyasin/Jogan.
