Us Chanse Pyare Chand Ho Tum- Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar-Film Rat Ki Rani 1949-Lyricist Darbari Lal Shamim- Music Hansraj Behl.
Asha Bhosle had sung a song under Hansraj Behl first time in film "Chunariya", but her voice was heared in a triplet song alongwith Johrabai Ambalawali and Geeta Dutt. In film "Rat Ki Rani", released in 1949, she sung two solos " Hai Mauj Mein Apne Begane" and Hamare Dil Tera Iqtiyar".However these songs were not popular. In fact, the songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar were really the winners.Particularly this song and another one" Dil Todnewale Aa, Mukh Modnewale Jaa", which was a solo song.
Later on in 1956, Lyricist Rajendra Krishna, took inspiration from the lyrics of this song and in film "Shatranj", and wrote a beautiful song " Badlimein Chhupe Chand Ne Kuchh Muzse Kaha Hai", which was sung by Hemant Kumar and Lata, under the music direction of C.Ramchandra.
The lyrics brings forth the affectionate love feelings dormant within hearts of a couple. She feels that he is more lovable than the moon hanging in the sky and smiling on them. She is humbled by his love, that she feels that he is instrumental in bringing hopes and aspirations in her desolate life, which was full of despair and miseries. She is humbled by his adorable deeds. In turn, he feels that she is so beautiful, that when the moon sees her, he hides his face in clouds in shame feeling inferiority. She feels that her life is full of desolateness and she is no match to him, and yet, he has made her an apple of his eyes, and for that her soul will forever remain indebted to him , to his noble deed of accepting her in his life.What a beautiful lyrics. No wonder Rajendra Krishna was fascinated by the lyrics.
