By 1950, Raj Kapoor's voice had become synonymous with Mukesh's voice. Later on Manna Dey, Talat and Rafi also sang for Raj Kapoor. However most people would not imagine Raj Kapoor singing in Kishore Kumar's voice. Can you remember any such song? Well, Kishore Kumar sang for Raj in film Pyar 1950 which was released in 1950 and music composer of the film was S.D.Burman. That was the first and last film in which Kishore sang for Raj Kapoor.

Similarly, we can't imagine Chitalkar singing for Raj Kapoor. Chitalkar's voice was suitable for light, lilting and racy songs. It was suitable for Bhagawan Dada style of acting. Therefore Chitalkar's voice was mostly used for Bhagwan Dada. However, in Film Sargam , which was released in 1950, Raj Kapoor sang in Chitalkar's voice.While composing light and racy songs for a film, C.Ramchandra invariably used to compose a couple of tender and beautiful slow songs, which was the hallmark of Lata Mangeshkar style of singing. One such memorable and lovingly tender song is " Wo Hamse Chhup Hai", which is a superb duet of Chitalkar with Lata. Another memorable songs are " Tu Chhed Sakhi Sargam".and "Koi Kisi Ka Deewana Na Bane" . This song is another one of those duets that is a pleasure to listen to and has been among the favourites, ever since I heard it for the first time. LM-CR magic at work again, Chitalkar sang it so well too, and P L. Santoshi's lyrics are so charming.
