Apni Kaho Kuchh Meri Suno

Apni Kaho Kuchh  Meri Suno-Lata Mangeshkar, Talat Mahamood- Film Parchhain 1952- Lyricist Noor Lucknowi- Music C.Ramchandra.

Parchhain was the movie which was produced and directed by eminent producer Director V.Shantaram under Rajkamal Productions. Originally Vasant Desai was to give music to this music, however when he left Rajkamal Production following some dispute, he was replaced by C.Ramchandra, who had attaned fame by that time for his quality music appealing to all strata of listners.

With the arrival of C.Ramchandra, it was obvious that the film's music was dominated by the voice of Lata Mangeshkar. Lata sang total eight songs in this film. Five were solos, and three duests with Talat. Strangely C.Ramchandra refrained from singing himself in duets. Instead male voice was assigned to Talat Mahamood. Talat & Lata had following three duets in the film....

1. Apni Kaho Ya Meri suno...
2. Dil Dil Se Kah Raha Hai.
3. Kisine Muzko Mere Gharmein Aake Loot Liya

Parchhain was a story about a youth, whose life is tormented by many sufferings and mishaps.Tired of his life Deepak (V. Shantaram), tries to commit suicide. However his inner voice stops him. As he's reurning home he gets hit in the eye by a bullet, blinding him. The accident has been caused by Saloni (Jayshree), a young lady also called Chhoti Rani (Young Queen), while she's out on a hunt. She takes him home with the view of getting him treatment. While staying in the big mansion Deepak soon falls in love with Saloni, who reciprocates his feelings. However this is not liked by the older Queen, Badi Rani (Lalita Pawar) as she wants Saloni to marry Vinod.(Ullhas Wasti). She sends Deepak for eye treatment with Kishori (Sandhya), one of the maids in the house, whose voice is similar to Saloni's voice. The blind Deepak mistakenly assumes he is with Saloni. The treatment cures Deepak and he gets his eyesight back. In the meanwhile Kishori also falls in his love. She encourages him to take life positively, despite what he has gone through. This song comes at this time in the film......

(As Deepak's life till the date was full of miseries, his entire mind and personality is victim to negative thoughts. He is yet to come out of this melancholic thinking and take life in positive mode. Kishori encourages him to abondon this mentality and brave the life with courage and valour.

She says the bleak and gloomy darkness of past has life has gone and a new dawn of joy has arrived. She urges him to open his mind to pleasantries of life. On this he replies that till now his life was nothing but a constant cry and he has forgotten how to laugh in happy moments. There is not even a glimmer of hope in his heart. It is filled up with grief. On this she advises him not to get lost in the bewildering maze of sorrow and discontent and keep in mind his ultimate destination of embracing the beautiful life with both hands.)

Both Lata's and Talat's voice being very tender and velvet smooth, they complement each other very well in the song. The lyrics, the joyful rendering of both singers and the wonderful tune of C.Ramchandra creates this magical musical gem that is not easy to forget.
