Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj....

Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj- Mohammad rafi- Film Baiju Bawra 1952- Lyricist Shakeel Badayuni- Music Naushad.

Vijay Bhatt had earlier made religious classics such as Bharat Milap (1942) and Ram Rajya (1943), with Ram Rajya being the only film Mahatma Gandhi watched. Bhatt's interest in literature and music compelled him to make a film about Tansen and the folk-legend singer Baiju Bawra as the main focus. A revenge theme was brought in with a love story and some comic interludes. Emphasis was also laid on the Guru-shishya tradition concentrating on the bond between Baiju and his Guru Swami Haridas, who was also Tansen's Guru.

To avenge the death of his father,  Baiju sneaks into the Mughal palace, where Tansen is singing. He is enthralled by the way Tansen sings, and the sword that was supposed to cut the maestro's throat falls on the tanpura, saddening Tansen. He says he could only be killed by music, and the pain that accompanies it. "Dip your notes in melancholy and I'll die on my own," he said. Baiju accordingly leaves the palace to learn "real" music from Haridas, his mentor in music.

He learns the intricacies of classical music from Haridas. When Haridas health is faltering, he sings this song. The heavely rendering cures Harids's health and he is able to walk. Such is the magic of music. The song was based on raag Malkauns.

The lyricist - Shakeel Badayuni, Music by Nausad and Singer - Muhammad Rafi. All the three creators of this master piece were followers of Islam and yet what they created is one of the best devotional song exclusively related to Hinduism. Were there any protests against anyone of the three when this film was released? No. The reason - Better human beings were there at that time. This is also the undeniable proof that fine arts like music and poetry are far above individual race, religion, caste, creed and ethnicity! They touch the human heart and soul like an electric shot that lasts for ever.
