Ishqmein Jo Kuchh Na Hona Tha- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Saqi 1952-Lyricist Rajendra Krishna-Music C.Ramchandra

Like films "Parchhain" and "Ghungroo", film Saqi was also remembered for C.Ramchandra's melodious music drenched in Lata Mangeshkar's divine and sweet voice. By this time, Lata had become an integral part of C.Ramchandra's music.Films like Ghungroo, Hangama and Saqi have long been forgotten. However among avid listners of old music these movies will always be remembered for their quality music. The C.Ramchandra-Lata combo had produced musical gems in this movie as well, which still after so many years, never fail to enthrall the listners.

The music of Saqi 1952, had flavour of Arabic music because the film's story takes place somewhere in Arabic land of medivial setting. The music was dominated by Lata's voice. All female songs went to her. She had three solos in the film...

1. Ishqmein Jo Kuchh Na Hona Tha.
2. Khushise Dur Hoon Majboor Hoon.
3. Dil Pehla Aur Pyar Dusra Teesri Jawani.
4. Paas Nahi Aaiye Hath Na Lagaiye (With Chorus)

In addition to this, she sang following duets
1. Aa gayi Hai Isqmein Bahar (With Rafi)
2.Kise Maloom Tha Ke Ek Din Mohabbat Bewafa Hogi (With Talat Mahamood)

Thus Lata's voice all encompassed the music of the film. This song and the song " Khushise dur Hoon" are sad whereas other songs are on happy note.
