Maan Mera Ehsaan Are Naadan- Rafi-Film Aan 1952-Lyricist Shakeel Badayuni- Music Naushad

A Mehboob Khan production, Aan had many firsts in it's stride.

1.India's first technicolour film.
2.It was the most expensive film ever at the time.
3.It was also a launching pad for actress Nadira.
4.It was the first film that was internationally launched. It was released in UK, US, France and Japan.
5.It was highest grosser film at that time.

Aan has story concerning an Indian royal family consisting of Maharaj (Murad), his brother Samshr Singh (Premnath)and his sister Rajashree (Nadira). Dilai Kumar plays the role of a village leader (Jai Tilak). Jai tames Rajashree's wild horse in a contest.Enraged Samsher Singh challenges Jai to fencing.Jai is winner in this much disputed contest and Samsher is angry at losing to a poor villager.

Jai falls in love with Rajashree. Samsher Singh is enraged more when he learns of the last wish of Maharaj to free the state from monarchy and return to democracy. He tries to assasinate Maharaj, but Maharaj escapes and disguises himself as a servant in his own palace.

Samsher then sets his evil eyes on Mangala, a village girl who is in love with Jai. Jai however does not reciprocate her love as he himself is in love with rajashree. Samsher Singh kidnaps Mangala and tries to molest her. Mangala takes poison and dies. In revenge Jai kills Samsher and provokes Rajashree to launch attack on his village. Jai kidnaps Rajashree and in order to tame ger arrogance and make her as humble as Mangala, he takes her to his village. Just when Rajshree begins to realise her feelings for Jai, Shamsher Singh who was presumed dead returns to get his revenge against Jai. In the end Samsher is killed and state returns to democracy.

This song comes in the film when Jai is taking Rajashree to his village to tame her arrogance.

This prestigious production was to be India's first full feature in Technicolor. The film was made with an extremely lavish budget. The main actors Dilip Kumar, Premnath and Nimmi were at the zenith of their fame. The second lead role Mangala ,initially Nargis was signed. However as Nargis was busy with projects of R.K.Films hence she left the project. Madhubala was the second choice ( Result of active lobbying by Dilip Kumar- as their romance was fully blossoming at the time). Madhubala for some explicable reasons was then was never cast. Finally Mehboob Khan decided to launch a newcomer Nadira.

When a first edit of the film was shown to the film's financiers and distributors, they objected that Nimmi's character died too early. This was due to Nimmi's vast popularity as an actress. Therefore, a lavish and extended dream sequence was filmed and edited in to give Nimmi more prominence and screen time in the film.
