Babuji Dheere Chalna- Geeta Dutt- Film Aar Paar 1954- Lyrics Majrooh Sultanpuri- Music O.P.Nayyar.

Aar Paar, released in 1954, was one of Gurudutt's light film after the failure of film Bazi. Gurudutt was so broke, that he did not have money to give O.P.Nayyar. On the other hand, composer O.P.Nayyar was also despondent and despaired after the failure of film Cham Chama Cham and Bazi, that he decided to turn his back to film music and go back to his place Jalander. It however required money. He went to Gurudutt for recovery of his outstanding money for Bazi's music. However Gurudutt also was penniless. He instead offered him the task of giving music for his forthcoming film Aar Paar. O.P. decided to give a last try, and this time his stars shined. The music of Aar Paar was successful. All the songs became chart burster. O.P.decided to stay back and rest is history.

The music of Aar Paar set a new trend of racy, foot tapping club songs. The film world was was so overwhelmed by this type of music, that many forthcoming movies were to repeat this trend. Geeta Dutt particularly gained prominence and fame because of this film. She rendered the light songs in lilting style in her sonorous voice. Rafi's playful singing very well complements her in light songs. The solo songs of Geeta ' Babuji Dheere Chalna', 'Ye Lo Mai Haari Piya', 'Hoon Abhi Mai Jawan' ' ja Ja Ja Ja Bewafa' and her duets with Rafi ' Sun Sun Sun Jalima and Are Na na Na Toba Toba' were popular at that time and still are. The sole song by Shamshad ' Kabhi Aar , Kabhi Paar' was the most popular songs of all the songs in the film.

The film catapulted actresses Kum Kum, Shyama in to stardom. O.P. Nayyar tasted his first success. Geeta Dutt acquired recognition for the versatility and range of her songs.  Thus, this film in a way was instrumental in shaping the destiny of many people, associated with it.
