Sun Ri Sakhi Mohe Sajana Bulaye- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Nagin 1954- Lyrics Rajendra Krishna- Music Hemant Kumar

After Film Samrat, this was another film released in 1954, to whom Heman Kumar had scored the music. Although Samrat was not successful film, Nagin proved to be a blockbuster one. The film's music, the young and fresh Vyjayantimala , barely 18 years old , her graceful dances , Kalyanji Virji Shah's splendid been tune played on clay violin and Harmonium playing by, to be independent composer Ravi, were the hallmarks of the film.
The films songs were written by Rajendra Krishna in simple yet meaningful lyrics. The music had lion's share of Lata's voice. She sang nine songs out of total 12 songs, either solos or duets. Hemant Kumar himself gave his voice in duets with Lata.
The film's plot was nothing special. It basically revolved around the enmity between to warring adivasi tribes, somewhere in hilly terrains in India. (No particulars about locales be learnt from the film). The bone of contention between the two tribes is the snake poison extracted and it's sale. Sometimes back one of the tribes Nagi, bought the poison for meager amount , by deceit, from other tribe Ragi. The chief of Ragi, therefore declares no selling to Nagi henceforth. Son of the Nagi chief, Sanatan (Pradeep Kumar), kills a Ragi man. The daughter of Ragi chief, Mala (Vyjayantimala), vows to avenge the killing and sets out to kill Sanatan. While trespassing enemy territory she listens to the captivating been tune. The player is Sanatan. She is enthralled and begins to sing and dance, completely mesmerised. Eventually they fall in love. Rest of the fil shows their frequent unions, when Sanatan plays the been tune and Mala gets attracted to him hearing the tune.
However the path of their love is not an easy one. They had to bear the brunt of  tribal rivalry and Prabeer (Jeevan), a Ragi tribal, who wants to marry Mala. After lot of twists and turns, unions and separations, they finally unite after a marathon of songs at the climax. The plot has nothing appealing in it, but what salvages the film is it's music. The songs are interspersed throughout the film, and they and  eloquent, elegant dance performances of young Vyjayantimala keep the viewers rooted.
This song comes in the film when after the first chance meeting and falling in the love, Mala is lost in Sanatan's memories. Her Friends tease and comment upon her lost state of mind, fully engrossed in the affectionate moments of their love. She expresses her emotions through this song....
