Dekh Tere Sansar Ki Halat...

Dekh tere Sansar Ki Halat- Kavi Pradeep- Film Nastik 1954- Lyrics Kavi Pradeep- Music C.Ramchandra.
Nastik was a film made under Filmistan banner had the background of Indian subcontinent partition in 1947 and the harsh conditions under which the refugees have to go during the time. It set the benchmark for many future movies made on similar topic. It depicts the agonies, the miseries endured by refugees. The lead pair was Ajit and Nalini Jaywant. The songs were written by Kavi Pradeep, who was recognized for his patriotic songs by that time and music was given by C.Ramchandra.
The film is set against the back drop of partition with its ensuing riots and violence, and using actual footage of refugees. The story is about a man who loses his faith in God when his parents are killed in the rioting, and his brother and sister die as refugees when the priest refuses to help them. He sets out to avenge his siblings' death. The plot of the film runs like this....
Anil (Ajeet) a refugee of partition, had his parents killed during the violence ensuing partition and flees with his sister Kamala (Roopmala) and younger brother Munna to India. Once when his brother falls sick, he seeks help of a priest Tulsiram (Ulhas), who refuses to help cure his brother. Enraged, Anil attacks Tulsiram. Police arrest him. His brother dies and Kamala is forced by Vinod (Raj Mehra) and his henchmen to become a tawaif (Courtesan). Anil, when released from the jail, learns the death of his brother and news of his sister becoming a courtesan. He is devastated and vows revenge on priest, Vinod and society in general. Kamala commits suicide out of shame and Anil becomes Nastik (Atheist). Tulsiram , learning that Anil seeks revenge, is on his heels with his daughter Rama (Nalini Jaywant). Anil and his friend (I.S.Johar)sets on the pursuit of Tulsiram.  His friend feels that at least on this pretext, Anil will have pilgrimage and hopes for his transformation.
Rama is a caring girl with kind nature. Rama and Ajit fall in love. When Anil learns that she is Tulsiram's daughter, he sees opportunity for his revenge as Tulsiram disaprroves their marriage. He marries Kamala.
They spend the night together and are out in the boat with the father after them when they both fall in the water. Rama is saved by her father but finds out later that she's pregnant. She presumes that Anil is dead. A son is born to her and when he falls sick she takes him to a God-man, Babaji, whom everyone believes has healing powers. Babaji is none other than Anil pretending to be a God-man. Once Anil discovers that Rama is alive and his son is ill,  a change comes over him, and with the recovery of his son his belief in Sanatan Dharma is restored.
A straight forward story with no frills and deviations. The film was immensely successful at Box office. It used live footage of trainload of refugees travelling to their respective chosen countries, in animal like conditions.
This songs comes in the film when Anil, ravaged by the inhuman violence in which his parents are killed, is forced to board a train to India as refugee in harsh conditions along with his sister and brother. He rues how the humanity has undergone a drastic change to worse.

(Neither Sun nor Moon has changed, the mother nature is unchanged, then why the humans have changed. In this difficult times, the mask of normally God fearing, law abiding people has slipped and they have turned violent. Everywhere the nation is burning in violence. The people from all religions have become robbers and are looting each other. Humanity is ashamed of their cruel deeds. Because of their such inhuman deeds the nation has turned into a graveyard. Had the people sensibly lived in harmony, this calamity would not have occurred.)

The powerful lyrics pours out the angst of difficult times of partition and the grinding conditions in which the population have to go. Very heart wrenching lyrics and ardent rendering of the song, a simple but appealing music of C.Ramchandra makes the song immortal.
