Kismatne Baag lagaya- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Chalis Baba Aur Ek Chor 1954- Lyricist P.L.Santoshi-Music S.D.Burman.

Chalis Baba Aur Ek Chor , released in 1954, was a musical film produced by actress Kamini Kaushal. Composer C.Ramchandra was initially slated for music direction. The association of C.Ramchandra and lyricist P.L.Santoshi was in full swing, therefore all the songs were penned by P.L.Santoshi. However due to lack of time, C.Ramchandra informed the producer that he could not spare enough time. He was therefore replaced by S.D.Burman.

However, C.Ramchandra sang a song' Teriya, Teriya,Teriya', with Lata Mangeshkar, which was a playful, lilting, fast paced peppy song, which became popular. Lata Mangeshkar, apart from this duet sang six solo songs. All of them are now forgotten, but this song ' Kismatne Baag Lagaya', sung by her, is a slow, sad and soulful song. Lata in her tender and mellow voice, laden with pathos has sung the song very ardently.
