Chala kafila Pyar Ka...

Chala Kafila Pyar ka- Asha Bhosle & Chorus- Film Shart 1954- Lyrics S.H.Bihari- Music Hemant Kumar.
After film Samrat and Nagin, Shart was the third film released in 1954, which had Hemanda's music. Nagin tasted success, but Shart sank without ripples on box office. The film was copied from Alffred Hitchcock's " The Stranger on a Train", hence withheld release by Censor Board. Later on it was released with so many severe cuts, that the story lacked continuity and any appeal to the viewers. Deepak, a Bengali actor, who was specially summoned for ths film by Director Bibhuti Mitra, was the Hero, and Shyama was the heroine. The lead pair was supported by capable actors like Shashikala, I.S.Johar ad Tiwari.
The film's '' who dunnit" story revolves arounf a murder on a moving train. The heroine is implicated in the murder by the villain (I.S.Johar), in order to blackmail her for marrying with him and thus get the inheritance money of her father, as her father had mentioned as one of the conditions to get the money. The entire film then progresses with improbable events, unbelievable characters and their bizarre behavior, eccentric and demented villain and his weak conspiracies against heroine. By the time, the real villain is caught, and hero heroine unite at the climax, the poor viewer is totally exhausted and feels relieved when the movie ends.
Despite this shortfalls , the only silver lining is Hemant Kumar's beautifully composed music. Out of twelve songs , Lata had a fair share of five songs and asha Bhosle also had sung four songs. This song by Asha Bhosle and Chorus comes in the film, when Kamini (Shyama) who has police on her heels for suspected murder rap, tries to successfully evade them and the villain who is blackmailing her. Robin (Deepak) who rescues her from goons, and takes her to home gives shelter. In the process, they fell for each other. This suits well for Kamini also. after all what is the better place to hide from police, than the home of a police. ?
She seduces the hero, and hero also falls prey to her charm. As they are returning to his home, they come across a tribal kafila, who sing this song and in a way , express the very emotions of love welling up the hearts of both lovebirds....
