Chalta Rahe Ye Karwan- lata Mangeshkar- Film Chor Bazar-1954- Lyricist Shakeel Badayuni-Music Sardar Malik

Chor Bazar ,released in 1954, was the film about run of a mill story of injustice done to a heir apparent of a medieval persian kingdom and his journey to avenge the injustice and ultimately claim the inheritance of throne. The lead pair was Shammi Kapoor and Sumitradevi, supported by Suchitra, Chitra, Om Prakash, Cuckoo etc. It is pleasant to see mustached Shammi , without any mannerism of post Tumsa Nahi Dekha.  Nothing special about the plot of the film. A petty thief Yusuf ( Om prakash) is given contract to kill the infant Shahzada of the kingdom, by none other than the regent . The innocence of the infant melts yusuf's heart and instead of killing the infant Shahzada, he abducts him. He spreads his own blood  to fake the killing and comes back.

The elated regent, orders to kill Yusuf,  the sole witness of the murder. However, Yusuf is too smart and street-wise. He had anticipated this. He along with the infant Shahzada and his family comprising of wife and two daughters Shakila and Jamila  fled the town to foil regent's plan.

While they all leave the town and travel to other destination unknown to them Yusuf's wife  sings this song, with innocent  infant Shahzada in deep sleep on her lap and her two daughters dozing nearby.  The unfortunate would be king, instead of sleeping on palatial , soft and luxurious bed is destined to sleep in a moving bullock cart, oblivious to the dangers and difficulties tormenting his life. She is flooded with emotions about the fate of this unfortunate infant and wishes that the carvan of his life will go on smoothly. She aspires for his well fare and future life without any miseries.
