Kitna Haseen Hai Mausam....

Kitna Haseen Hai mausam- Chitalkar & Lata- Film Azad 1955- Lyrics Rajendra Krishna- Music C.Ramchandra
After a series of tragic roles, Dilipkumar earned a title of Tragedy king. However the negativity of these roles began to take it's toll on Dilip Kumar's health. The doctors prescribed leaving out the tragic roles for some time and turn to comedy and light roles. The result is Dilip Kumar's light peppy roles in Azad And Kohinoor. It is really pleasant to see both the tragedy king and tragedy Queen in such hilarious roles. There are no shades  of melancholic mood, tears, sorrow and untimely death at the climax. Instead what we find in the film is comedy, energetic laughing Dilip and bubbly, effervescent Meena Kumari, and that is really a welcome change.
There is an able Police Inspector (Raj Mehra) assisted by incredibly dumb constable (Om Prakash), having crazy ideas to nab a notorious gangster Chander (S.Nazeer). His ideas to arrest him always end in comic failures. Sunder (Pran) is Chander's Boss.
Cut to another place.....Shobha (Meena Kumari) is an orphan fostered by her father's friend, Charandas (S.Badriprasad) and his wife (Achala Sachdev). They begin to look for her groom. Their young son, Kumar is missing from childhood, otherwise, they feel he would be an ideal choice for Shobha's groom. The baddie Sunder has an evil eye on Shobha, and he commissions Chander to abduct Shobha.
Now there enters another character Khan Saheb (Dilip Kumar in Mustache and  beard with a mole on his cheek ), who is a wealthy , respected man. While Chander kidnaps Shobha he is ambushed and carried to another place. She is accompanied by a lone man , again (Dilip kumar in Grey mushtache, but without beard), who offers her to return to her home. Next morning instead he takes her to his home, far beyond hills. There, the old man reveals himself to be Azad, a dashing , witty and handsome leader of feared bandits . He persuades her that he robs stinky riches and distributes the wealth among poor ( A Robbin Hood type Character...!!). Shobha falls to his charms. They both love each other. Azad sents a letter to Charandas that he has Shobha in his custody and wants to marry her. Unable to digest the idea of a bandit as his son-in-law, Charandas approaches police. In the meanwhile Azad accompanies Shobha to her home. Their journey provide ample opportunities for happy singing....
What happens next ? Do they get married ? Who is Azad ? What happened to the missing son of Charan Das ? The avid viewers of old Hindi films can easily guess the happy ending.....

Dilip and Meena Kumari provide a delicious and enchanting pair. C.Ramchandra's lilting music levates the general happy, care free mood of the film. All the songs of the film were raging hit and chart busters, be it " Radha Na Bole Na Bole", "Pee Ke Daras ko Taras Rahi Akhiyan", "Kitna Haseen Mausam" and off course " Dekho Ji Bahar Aayee Baghomein khili Kaliyan".
This song comes in the film when Azad is accompanying Shobha to her home. During the journey the beautiful jungle, the flora and fauna has mood elevating effect on both love birds and they began to sing the song.  Initially Talat was assigned for male voice , however C.Ramchandra could not get his dates due to Talat's busy schedule. Therefore he himself sang the male voice. CR's voice in the song is unusually velvet smooth going very near to Talat's silken voice. Lata as always rendered the song according to mood on screen. Her voice is full of zest and gaiety. The presence of energetic Dilip and pretty Meena Kumari enhances the beauty of the song.
