Chanda Re Ja Re Ja Re- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Ziddi 1948-Lyricist Prem Dhawan-Music Khemchand Prakash.

Like Ghulam Huder and Anil Biswas, Khemchand Prakash was another composer, who shaped Lata's career.Lata Mangeshkar sang first time under Khemchand Prakash baton, in  film Asha 1948. She had total four songs in the film.The songs" Dur Jaaye Re" and "Chet Chet kar Chal Re Chatur", were popular that time. 

However, when we think of Lata's popular song under Khemchand Prakash music direction, the song " Chanda Re Jaa Re Jaa Re", immediately comes to mind.This song and the song " Aayega Aayega" from Film Mahal 1949, catapulted Lata's career in real sense.

Another song," Jadoo Kar Gaye Kisike Naina"in Lata's voice in this film, also became very popular. Lata Sang her first duet with Kishor Kumar in this film. The song was" Ye Kaun Aaya Re Kar Ke Shingar".

The song--"chanda re ja re ja re" is based on Raga Chaayanat and was composed by Maestro Khemchand Prakash in 1949 which was the same year when he also composed ALL TIME immortal song "Aayega Aanewala" for Film : Mahal.1949. Both songs are considered to be milestones in Khamchand Prakash composing career and also Lata's career.
