Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Haya- Geeta Dutt- Film Do Bhai 1947-Lyricist Raja Mehandi Ali Khan- Music S.D.Burman.

There are some songs, whose popularity remains undiminished, even  generation after generations. The song " Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Gaya", recorded in Geeta Dutt's voice for Film "Do Bhai", released in 1947, can be counted as such a immortal song. The song brought Geeta Dutt in lime light in real sense.

Normally, a newcomer singer does not get more than one or two songs in a film. Once assured about the acceptance by listeners, they get more songs. However, Geeta Dutt was fortunate in this aspect. Out of total nine songs, she got six songs in the film Do Bhai, the music of which was composed by S.D.Burman.

Of all the six songs by Geeta Dutt, the song" Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Gaya", was the real winner. It got unprecedented publicity, and established Geeta Dutt, as the force to reckon with, in hindi film music arena.

Another specialty of the film, is the rise of Raja Mehandi Ali Khan as a lyricist. He later on penned many beautiful songs, which proved to be block buster hits.
