The contribution of composer duo Husnalal Bhagatram, in the singing career of Lata Mangeshkar can't be easily ignored.It was this composer duo, who used to work over her voice hours after hours and polish her pronounsations.

The association of Lata Mangeshkar and Husnalal Bhagatram,  started from this film. Later on Lata sang many beautiful songs under the baton of this composer duo. This song was sung by two female singers, Lata and Premlata. After Badi Behen, Premlata sang in films like Char Chand, Nagma, the music of which was composed by Nashad. They got married afterwords. Premlata's other songs are forgotten. Only this song gained popularity.

Here in the song, the hero Rahaman is trying to woo Suraiyya. Her friends also help him in this matter. While Suraiya is sulky and reluctant in acknowledging his love, her friends tease her by asking why she is so solemn, there must be something special feelings of love arising out of this first meeting.

Both Lata's and Premlata's voice is mischievous and constantly teasing the pair. While Rahaman enjoys this, Suraiyya remains sulky. However she also is enjoying this, but does not show it.

The song's lyrics is simple, teasing and music appealing to the masses. That's why,  by this song, Lata's voice reached in common man's homes and she became a household name.
