In my earlier two posts, I had given two of Lata's three solo songs in film Patanga , which were in melancholic mood, depicting the pangs of broken heart. This is the third song in the same mood. In this film all affectionate and soft melodies went to Lata, whereas Shamshad Begum got light, bouncy and racy songs, like "Pahale Jo Ho Gayee Namaste Namaste", Gore Gore Mukhade Pe Gesu Jo Chha Gaye", "Duniya Ko Pyare Phool Sitare", Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon (With Chitalkar) and " Bolo Ji Dil Loge To Kya Kya Doge" (With Rafi)

Considering Lata's thin and tender voice, C.Ramchandra reserved these three songs for her. Unlike the other two Lata solos ( Thukrake Muze Janewale and Dil Ko Bhoola Do Tum Hamein), which were picturised on actress Poornima, this song was picturised on actress Nigar Sultana who expresses the feelings ,when she has fallen in Shyam's love. After falling in love, she feels her life is full of miseries and has less pleasures. All the liveliness has disappeared from her life because of betrayal of her beloved one. She has grievances and moans about the unfaithfulness of him, yet can't forget his yearning memories, which she has cherished in her heart. She is consigned to crying in his memories, yet she wishes him happy life and wishes that let her's be immersed in her devastated and miserable world. Beautiful Lyrics, wonderful Music composition and superb rending by Lata in her tender voice fully laden with agonies of a love lorn lady.
