Mushkil Hai Bahut Mushkil...

Mushkil Hai Bahut Mushkil- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Mahal 1949-Lyicist Nakshab Jaravchi- Music Khemchand Prakash

The films like Khazanchi 1947, Shehnai 1947 and Patanga 1949, had many light, lilting racy songs like " Sawan Aaya Re"," Mera Piya Gaye Rangoon", "Aana Meri Jaan Suday Ke Sunday"etc. After this a new trend of such light songs had emerged in the hindi film music. Compared to this, the songs of film "Mahal", which was released in 1949, were very slow. Makhanlal Jain ,the adviser of Bombay Talkies felt that the film will bomb at box office only because of songs. However, the music composer Khemchand Prakash was so confident about his music that he predicted that the film will run successfully only because of it's music. Khemchand Prakash's prediction proved correct. Even the slow songs were popular among listeners.

Besides Lata, singer Rajkumari also has a lion's share in the popularity of film "Mahal". Her songs "Mai Woh Haseen Hoon", Ghabara Ke Jo Ham Sarko Takraye To", and "Ek Teer Chala"( All solos) and " Chhun Chhun Chunarawa Baaje" ( with Johrabai Ambawali) were equally popular. "Ghabara Ke Jo Ham Sarko Takraye" was popular that time and even now. Rajkumari had sung the song in a concert at Shanmukhanand Hall ,Matunga, to commemorate the 100 years of Hindi Film Music, in presence of Noor Jehan. Rajkumari was very old then, but she rendered the song as effectively as originally recorded in 1949. There was no adverse effect of age factor on her voice. Not only listeners of old generations were thrilled, but new generation was acquainted with the magic of old music and they also were enthralled.

Lyrics of the song:
