Tum Hi Kaho Mera Man Quon Rahe Udaas- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Girl School 1949-Kavi Praeep- Anil Biswas.

While composing music for Film Girl School, which was released in 1949, Composer Anil Biswas has placed emphasis on Lata's voice. In this film, he had composed two solos for Lata. This song and another one was "Kuch Sharmate Hue, Aur Kuch Saham Saham , Naye Rastepe Rakhaa Aaj  Maine Pahala Kadam". Both songs are melodious. Anilda had also composed a duet of Lata and Shankar Das Gupta, " Baar Baar Tum Soch Rahi Ho". All these Lata songs were hit. By then, Lata had become an important fixture in Anilda's music.

However, for some inexplicable reasons, probably because of differences with Kavi Pradeep, Anilda quit the project leaving half composed music for film Girl School. Remaining songs were composed by C.Ramchandra. Lata was not so important in C.Ramchandra's music that time. Therefore, he did not give any song to Lata. Under C.Ramchandra's music direction, Shamhshad Begum sang four duets with C.Ramchandra and one song " Ek Taraf Hai Jarasa Bandhan", was sung by Lalita Deulkar.

In this song, Lata's tender voice effectively conveys the misery of loneliness and separation.On screen this song is sung by Geeta Bali. She feels that although her beloved one resides in her heart, yet he is far away from her heart. The surrounding ambiance is pleasant. In the sky, the dazzling stars are playing with Moon. But all this,  is unable to lift her melancholic mood and despair, because her beloved one is not with her.
