Hansi Hansi Na Rahi...

Hansi Hansi Na Rahi-Lata Mangeshkar- Film Sipahiya 1949-  Lyricist Arzoo Luckhnavi- Music C.Ramchandra.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, ( Aye Aankh Ab Na Rona), the advent of phenomenon called Lata Mangeshkar totally transformed the style of C.Ramchandra's music, as far as Lata- C.Ramchandra combination was concerned. This combination produced many beautiful melodies which are unforgettable.

Like, the song, " Aye Aankh Ab Na Rona", in this song also, the anguish and desolateness of a broken love and the separation arising out of it, is conveyed superbly .The song was picturized on Madhubala on screen. For her, after the break up with her beloved one, there is no joy and pleasure in her life. The life she had dreamed which was full of cheerfulness, has vanished. The hope and aspiration in her life is not there any more, hence she wonders why and what for she should live. Darkness of miseries and despair has descended. She is alive, but the hope and expectations has vanished forever. Beautiful lyrics and compelling melody.

Lyrics of the song :

Hansi hansi na rahi
Aur khushi khushi na rahi
Main zindagi jise samajhun
Wo zindagi na rahi

Jiyun to kisake lie
Jiyun to kisake lie
Aur marun to kisake lie
Marun to kisake lie
Jo ek aas bandhi thi
Wo aas hi na rahi
Hansi hansi na rahi
Aur khushi khushi na rahi

Kuchh aa ke gham ke
Andhere ne aisaa gher liyaa
Kuchh aa ke gham ke
Andhere ne aisaa gher liyaa
Chiraag jalate rahe
Aur roshani na rahi
Hansi hansi na rahi
Aur khushi khushi na rahi

Andheri raat hai
Andheri raat hai ab aur
Bujhaa saa dil kaa diyaa
Bujhaa saa dil kaa diyaa
Jo chaar din ke lie thi
Wo chaandani na rahi
Hansi hansi na rahi
Aur khushi khushi na rahi
