Dard E Ulfat Chupaoo Kahaa- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Aurat 1953- Lyrics Shailendra- Music Shankar Jaikishan.

Aurat was a film based on Biblical tale of 'Samson and Delaila'. After the films Aah, Aas and Naya Ghar, all of which were released in 1953, this was Shankar Jaikishan's another movie in 1953. The songs of the film were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra. By this time Shailendra and Lata Mangeshkar's voice have become an integral part of SJ's music. The music of Aurat was totally dominated by Lata's voice. All seven songs were sung by Lata. All were solos and all songs became chart buster. Although the film did below average business at Box office, due to weak characters, narrative and poor picturization, the music of Shankar Jaikishan duo was the redeeming factor. Lata's early 50's voice was young and fresh, dipped in honey. She fully justified the faith reposed on her by Shankar Jaikishan. Incidentally, Bina Rai and Premnath who were in leading role, fell in love on the sets of this film and married in 1953.

The story of the film is about Aadil (Premnath), who is Robinhood like character, caring for poor and challenging vicious rulers. Emperor (Ulhas) decrees that villagers must volunteer of building his palace. Villagers refuse to obey since it is harvest time. The angry commander kills father of Ruhi (Purnima), who is in love with Aadil. Enraged Aadil drives the commander and soldiers way.

Once, Aadil saves the fiance of Emperor Juhi(Bina Rai) from a wild lion. The happy Emperor, awards Aadil the post of Commander of his Military. Aadil leaves village to attend the duties and resides in palace,. Juhi is also smitten by masculine and brave personality of Aadil. She fall in his love. She expresses the emotions of love welling up from the bottom of her heart, filled with the joy of first love. She says that the love and the agony emanating from it could not be suppressed now. She is not even aware when her beloved had occupied her heart and her entire world. He is in her blood, her eyes and in her heart and there is no possibility of running away from this magical feeling of love.... Shailendra's lyrics effectively brings forth the happy and contented state of mind of a lady fully immersed in love. SJ's music is sweet, rhythmic and lilting. Another musical gems from Lata-SJ combination.
