Zanan Zanan Ghungarwa Baje

Zanan Zanan Ghungarwa Baaje- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Aah 1953- Lyrics Hasrat Jaipuri- Music Shankar Jaikishan
Aah was the fourth movie after Aag, Barsat, and Awara, which was produced under R.K.Films banner. It was a romantic film with lead pair of Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Initially the story ended tragically in the tradition of Devdas. Raj kapoor is diagnosed tuberculosis. In the end he dies while Nargis is married to Dr.Kailash (Pran) and their marriage procession passes Raj's funeral.
However Raj Kapoor felt that with such kind of tragic end, the film will not fare well at box-office. At his insistence , the end was changed. The new end showed him recuperating from the terminal decease and thereafter happy  fulfillment of Raj & Nargis love. In spite of changed ending, the film did below average business. The revised end totally destroyed the thematic consistency of the story.
The story of the film revolves around Raj (Raj Kapoor), who is wealthy businessman's son and whose mother had died from tuberculosis. As per his mother's dying wish, Raj corresponds with his father's friend's daughter Chandra for marriage. Chandra however ignores his letter. Her sister Neelu (Nargis) , senses the ardent love emanating from the letter and responds to him. Their love blossoms through correspondence. Once She comes to meet him. Both are oblivious to the fact that they had corresponded each other. After initial stage of hate, they fall in love. They attend a tribal wedding party at country side, where Raj works on Saraswati Dam.
Here in this tribal dance, they come nearer and both sense their feelings for each other. The chief dancer is Chitra, a Marathi actress.  Actually she expresses the feelings of love of the the two love birds. SJ's lilting tune and rhythmic swing of the lyrics by Hasrat, very well compliment each other. Lata Mangeshkar as usual renders the song excellently in her tender and fresh voice.
