Jawan Hai Jahaan...

Nainonse Nain Hue Char- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Aurat 1953- Lyrics Hasrat Jaipuri- Music Shankar Jaikishan.
Like Films Aah, Aas and Naya Ghar, which were all released in 1953, and for which Shankar Jaikishan duo had given music, film Aurat also bombed at Box office, due to weak characters, weak narrative and picturization. The film was based on famous Biblical tale of 'Samson and Deliala'. The original picture did not have songs, but considering the taste of cine viewers in India, songs were interspersed in the film. Although the movie did below average business, the music of Shankar Jaikishan was appreciated. The film had seven songs and all songs were given to Lata Mangeshkar. This speaks volumes about how Lata's voice  was becoming an ever encompassing factor in SJ's music.
The plot of film revolves around Adil (Premnath), who is a kind of Robinhood, caring for poor people's plight and challenging ruling authorities. The Emperor (Ulhas), imposes a decree that to build his palace the village must provide volunteers. The villagers oppose this as it is harvesting time. The enraged commander kills the father of Ruhi , a villager who in love with Adil.  Adil then fights with commander and compels him to beat the retreat.
Later on Emperor and his fiance Juhi (Bina Rai), go for hunting, when Adil saves her from a lion. As a result, Adil is awarded a post of commander of Military. He leaves village to attend his duties. Juhi is smitten with masculine persona of Adil, tries to woe him. Adil spurns her. Enraged, Juhi vows to avenge her insult. She draws from him, the secret of his strength, which is in the plaid of his hairs. During night, she cuts his plaid. Adil's strength vanishes, he is caught by Emperor and blinded. On the day of his execution, he is publicly humiliated and harassed by everybody. Juhi begins to repent, seeing his pitiable condition.
The harassed Adil then demands Almighty God to give back his strength to bring back the justice and make the planet livable for poor. God acquiesces, Adil gets his strength, pushes the pillars of Palace and pulls the roof over everybody's head. He and Ruhi then leave the city and retire for peaceful life.
This song comes in the film riht after credit rolls, when , Ruhi fully engrossed in Adil's love sings this song to pour out the emotions of first love gushing out of her heart. Hasrat Jaipuri's lyrics is powerfull and SJ's tune lilting. The song creates the waves of happiness in the mind of viewers.

Jawan Hai Jahaan- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Naya Ghar 1953- Lyrics Shailendra- Music Shankar Jaikishan
Naya Ghar, directed by Dharm Dev Kashyap, was a film released in 1953, for which the music was given by Shankar Jaikishan Duo. The songs of the film were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra. It was basically a film depicting a simple girl with desire to have her own home. It was a kind of love triangle between Kamini (Geeta Bali), Kamal (Shekhar) and Chanda (Begum Para). Kamal ,a construction engineer and Kamini fall in love. Their marriage is fixed. As they await for the fulfillment of their dream of sweet home, comes Chanda is Kamini's friend in her college day. Not knowing that Kamal is fiance of her friend Chanda woes him. Kamal is also swept off his feet by her beauty. Kamini becomes totally helpless. In her desolate state of mind she expresses her feeling of lost love, the pangs of betrayal and waves of agonies welling up from her heart.
The song comes in the film twice. The happy version is racy and fast paced. Lata Mangeshkar in her soft, and young voice has rendered both versions with professional ease and effectively brought forth the emotions of happiness and angst in respective versions. However, if you ask me, my personal like is slow version.
