Another beautifully composed song by Khayyam, apart from master piece " Sham-E-Gham Ki kasam". The song was penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and sung by Talat Mahmood, Premlata and Ashima Banerjee. Ashima Bannerjee started her singing career from film 'Bahadur' , of which the music was composed by S.Mohinder. She then went on singing for films like Footpath, Harjeet and Jungle Ka Jadoo. But except this song, no other song of hers gained popularity.  This song therefore is the highlight of singing career.

Asha Bhosle also sang four solos in the film. However the popularity of Sham-E-Gham Ki Kasam eclipsed those songs. Today, movie Footpath is remembered for songs ' Sham-E-Gham Ki Kasam', this song' Thandi Pawan Chale' and Dilip Kumar's acting prowess.
