Do Bol Tere Meethe Meethe

Do Bol Tere Meethe Meethe- Lata Mangeshkar & Hemant Kumar- Film Dara 1953- Indivar- Music Mohammad Shafi
Dara, released in 1953 was second  movie by Actor/producer Shaikh Mukhtar after film Annadata 1952. Muisc of both movies was given by Mohammad Shafi. Earlier in 1951 Shafi had given music to some songs of film Hulchul, after composer Sajjad Hussain left it. Shafi had no aura of fame and publicity like C.Ramchandra, Husnalal Bhagatram, but the music of Dara was no less melodious. Shafi had utilized Lata's sweet voice to full extent. Lata had following songs in the film....
    1. Do Bol Tere Meethe Meethe (With Hemant Kumar)
    2. Chalo Ham Kahar Mitane Chale Hai.(Solo)
    3. Chain Se Baithega Kaise Tu.(Solo)
    4. Ulfat ki Kahani Itni Thi. (Solo)
    5. Aa Nainomein Jhoomkar Sajna.
    6. Bandhan Hai Hathonke Kangan.
Naturally music of Dara 1953 was fully dominated by Lata's voice. Especially this song, 'Do Bol Tere Meethe Meethe' is an excellent example of singer's voices blending with background chorus. The lines and chorus come one after each other, creating a superb melody that flows soothingly without interruption. The song is superb example of contra- melody, a genre introduced effectively by composer Anil Biswas in Hindi Film Music.
