Naya Ghar was another film after Aah, Aas, which was released in 1953, and whose music was scored by Shankar Jaikishan. The plot of the film revolves around a simple girl Kamini (Geeta Bali), whose mother hopes that she gets a wealthy husband, and settles in her own home. In fact like all other girls, it was Kamini's dream also. As it happens ,Kamal (Shekhar), a construction engineer comes to reside opposite Kamini. He has a housing project in his mind and he also aspires for his own sweet home with amiable wife. Both Kamal and Kamini fall for each other. Their marriage is fixed but then comes the twist in the story. Chanda (Begum Para) , a college friend of Kamini comes to reside near Kamal's home. She also likes Kamal and spreads the tentacles of her beauty to entice him. Kamal also is swept off his feet because of her beauty. Chanda is unaware of the fact that Kamal is fiance of her friend. When she comes to know, it is too late. She refuses to let him go. Kamal is also involved in her love.

Kamini is devastated and grief stricken. Her whole world crumbles around her. What happens next, Will she be able to regain her love and achieve her dream of sweet home ? Better to see in movie.

This song comes in the film when the romance of Kamini and Kamal is in full blossom. Kamini is fully engrossed in his love. She urges all the miseries to go away since she her hopes have revived and her eyes have learned to radiate with all the joys. She tells them that they have no place in her life as she is fully immersed in the all encompassing magic of love. The loving talk under the indigo canopy of starred sky will take her in the dreamland of love.....

Shailendra's lyric is captivating. Every word expresses the happiness of falling in love, the ecstatic state of mind when one experiences the magic of first love. Lata Mangeshkar's sweet and fresh voice brings out the euphoric state of Kamini's heart. SJ's music is lilting and charming. As in film Aah and Aas, the music of Naya Ghar was also had fair share of Lata Mangeshkar's voice. She sang happy as well as sad songs with equal ease and grace. Her sad song ' Lagakar Dil Pareshan Hai' is considered as one of the best musical gem produced by Lata-SJ combination.
