Peeche Peeche Aakar Chhulo Hame Paa Kar.....

Peeche Peeche Aakar Chale Nahi Aana- Hemant Kumar & Lata Mangeshkar- Film House No.44 (1955)- Lyrics Sahir Ludhianvi- Music S.D.Burman.

House No.44, released in 1955 was a Navketan Banner film, produced by actor Dev Anand. It depicts the struggle of a petty thief Ashok (Dev Anand) & his love Nimmo (Kalpana Karthik), for escaping from the crime world they were inducted into due to want of money. Ashok was given shelter on night by Nimmo's forbearing father, because Ashok sleeps outside the house one night. Ashok is smitten by the charm and beauty of Nimmo.

Ashok meanwhile picks the pocket of a thug Sundar, who catches him during the act. Noticing his skills, Sundar offfers Ashok job for money under the sinister gangster Kaptaan (K.N.Singh). Kaptann is short staffed because one member of gang Jebu (Rashid Khan) has deserted the gang along with his girlfriend. Kaptaan finds replacement of Jebu in Ashok, but still wants female replacement.

Once during a theft in Railway shed, Sundar kills accidentally a chowkidar, who turns out to be Nimmo's father. Orphaned and lonely, Nimmo agrees to the proposal of Kaptaan to work for him to earn money. Thus both Ashok and Nimmo were inducted into the crime world.

During one thieving errand, Ashok and Nimmo come face to face. Ashok is not happy to see her in this shady and cruel world. He loves her and expresses his feelings to her. After initial hesitance Nimmo also begins to reciprocate his feelings. A bond of love and affection begins to develop between them. They express their dormant feelings in this song....

Two lovebirds lost in the paradise of love. The chemistry between them is almost palpable. The debonair Dev and naughty Kalpan Karthik, experiencing Ecstasy, after the respite from her lonely and desolate life.  She teases him to come and get hold of her. She says it is not easy to get her. If he is a man of substance, come get hold of me.... Naughtiness at the best. The lyrics , the tune of SDB and on screen chemistry between the two actors ( Notice their affectionate glances, gentle touches, mischievous expressions and fluid care free movements) , everything about the song is excellent. It weaves the web of magic around the viewer, takes him to the rainbow coloured dreamland of youth, from where nobody wants to come back.
