Sajan Bin Nind Na Aawe- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Munimji 1955- Lyrics sahir Ludhianvi- Music S.D.Burman.

Munimji , released in 1955 was a romance film featuring Dev Anand and Nalini Jaywant in lead roles. The film was later remade in Telgu as " Inti Guttu". It is all about the wooing of a foreign returned girl Roopa (Nalini Jaywant), by two sons of Malti (Niroopa Roy). One Ratan (Pran), is raised by her as maid and other Amar (Dev Anand) . However their motives are different. Ratan is actually a dacoit Kala Ghoda and he is after Roopa's ( Nalini Jaywant) inheritance, whereas Amar is purely loving her. Malti however always favours Ratan, as against Amar  as long back she had switched the babies in order to safeguard the inheritance rights of Ratan. 

Amar tries to woe Roopa, when she returns from abroad, both in the disguise of Munimji (Dev Annad with spectacles, mustache, and a mole on his cheek, with an umbrella) and also in Raj's disguise. ( Smart, debonair Dev Anand with his usual charms). At last in order to impress Roopa, when Amar discards the disgise of Munimji and appears as Raj, Roopa is smitten by his persuations, advances and charms. She reciprocates his love feelings. 

Amar's mother Malti, however pleas him to abondon his love towards Roopa, for Ratan's sake. Embittered Amar grudgingly agrees. There follows the separation of two love birds. This separation is unbearable for Roopa. In her agony filled state of mind she expresses her feelings of anguish by this song.....

(The love of my beloved turned out to be short lived. In that short period, he showed me the dreams of happiness and then suddenly left me in harrowing state. The joyous dreams have turned into nightmares now. His separation is burning my heart and it has deprived me from sleep. In what words shall I express my agonies and pangs of separation.? My whole body and soul is burning from the pains of his separation. In what way shall I express my despair and sorrows?)

The lyrics of Sahir has profound pain , SDB's tune created in Rag Kedar effectively brings out the despondency of a broken heart. Truly, a heart wrenching melody....
