Ghadiyan Gini Hai maine tere Intezar Ki...

Loota Hai Zamamnene Kismatne Mitaya Hai-Lata Mangeshkar-Film Do Raha 1952- Lyricist Prem Dhawan- Music Anil Biswas.
By 1952, Anil Biswas was a dependable and established name in the field of Hindi Film Music. His music for films like Anokha Pyar 1948, Beqasoor 1950,  Arzoo 1950, Tarana 1951, Aaram 1951 and Rahi 1952, had become popular. It was a quality music with inherent Indian folk music traces in it. In 1952, another musical film "Do Raha" was released the music of which was composed by Anil Biswas. Shekhar and Nalini Jaywant was the lead pair. The songs of the film were penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, Josh Malihabadi. Lata Mangeshkar had two solos in the film, "Loota Hai zamanene Kismatne Mitaya Hai" and "Ghadiyan Gini Hai Maine Tere Intajar Ki. Boith these songs were sweet and melodious. Lata's honey dipped voice has given these songs euphonious and heart wrenching.
The song "Loota Hai zamanene", is sad depicting the anguished state of mind of a broken heart. Her heart is bleeding with miseries and agonies , due to betrayal by her beloved. She says Love has given joy and happy moment only once , left her heart filled with desolateness and sorrow Hundred  times. It has taken away all the pleasures in her life permanently. She is bitter about the ways of this material world and the betrayal by the people in it. The dark clouds  of despondency and gloom have descended on her life. In this darkness she is not able to even remember when the flame of love was ignited and when it was extinguished. Tears have welled up in her sorrow filled eyes. She is trying hard to hide her feelings of despair and hopelessness behind the barrier of eyelids ,laden with tears. She is afraid to open her feelings of distress , lest her beloved will be disturbed.
Anil Biswas had special inclination towards Prem Dhawan's poetry. Therefore he used to take at least one song penned by Prem Dhawan. Here ,in this song, Prem Dhawan's powerful and profound lyrics ably expresses the agonies of betrayal and the accompanying all encompassing  sense of  wryness and lugubriousness. Anil Biswas's music is out of the world. Lata's tender voice has as usual created an ambiance of desolateness. Overall a song to be listened alone in a quiet night.

Another solo song by Lata Mangeshkar in the film is " Ghadiyan Gini Hai maine Tere Intezar Ki", is diametrically opposite to the mood of earlier song. It is rendered with ardour and zest and here also Lata had fully given justice to the words of Prem Dhawan. Here is the song....
