Parrvati had many aspirations. She dreamed living with Shankar in lively lovers paradise studded with bright stars. However the cruel destiny had demolished all her hopes and wishes. All the desires and longings have faded now. She is staring at the bleak future without any light of hope. At the other end death is waiting for her. She blames the the all mighty about why he has poisoned her life with angst and pangs of separation. What kind of love is this, O God, What kind of love is this..?
Shailendra's lyrics has ability to bring forth the anguish arising out of separation of Paro from her beloved Shankar. The state of her convulsive  mind effectively depicted through the lyrics. Lata's ardent rendering of the song in the voice dipped with agony, Shankar Jaikishan's wonderful music...All this make the song a nmemorable on.....A song not to miss.
Shanakar Jaikishan had equally utilised the talents of Talat Mahamood and Lata Mangeshkar in Daag's music. Apart from above song, Lata had five solos in the film

1.Dekho Aaya Ye Kaisa Zamana (Filmed on Usha Kiran, the song has distinct Marathi Lavani flavour)
2.Lage Jabse Nain Laage..(Also filmed on Usha Kiran)
3. kahe Ko Der Lagayee Aaye Na Abtak Balmaa
4.Ae Mere Dil Kahi Aur Chal...

Out of above the songs " Dekho Aaya Ye Kaisa zamana", and "Lage Jabse Nain" were happy songs , whereas other songs were in sad mood. The song Kahe Ko Der Lagayee " also comes in similar situation, when second time devastated Shankar leaves home after the tragic death of his mother.
