Tum Chand Ke Saath Chale Aao

Tum Chand Ke Saath Chale Aao-Lata Mangeshkar-Film Ashina 1952-Rajendra Krishna-Music Madan Mohan

Film Ashiana, released in 1952, was the film depicting the tragedy of a childhood love in this world and their reunion in another mystic world. Raju(Raj Kapoor) and Gaura (Nargis) are in love from their childhood. A doll is the sign of their love. Jeevan (Iftikar)wants to marry Gaura but Gaura rejects him, hence he tries to rape her. Raju tries to save her.In the ensuing fight, Jeevan dies. Raju gets convicted and goes to jail. Gaura's father is weary of marrying her with a convict, hence arranges her marriage with someone. On the wedding day, during heated exchanges Gaura topples over the balcony and dies.

Here, Raj is released from jail and is devastated to hear the tragic news of Gaura's death. However he never believes in her death. He is sure she will come back to him and they will unite. Others consider him insane and his repeated experiences of Gaura calling him from mystic land, as his hallaucinations. At the end, on a stormy day Gaura calls him to which he respond, they both reunite in another world. Amen...

Unconvicing story, underdeveloped characters, bleak cinematography and rubbish dialogs... these ingradients are sufficient to make a film flop. That's what happened here. The film bombed at Box office. What remained intact and glorified from the rubbish, was the heavenly magical music of Madan Mohan. The intermittent songs are the only respite for the viewers from the movie plot. All Nine songs were popular. Especially the combination of Lata-Madan Mohan was formidable.

This song comes in the movie when the lead pair enter in youth and Gaura sings the song calling Raju. Beautiful lyrics, wonderful music makes it memorable song. Other beautiful song in this film was Lata's "Mera Qaraar Le Jaa". ... Mera Qaraar Le Jaa... Talat Mahmood's version
