The year was 1952. Hindi Film Industry was undergoing transformation. New music composers like Hemant Kumar and O.P Nayyar were begining to imprint their stamp on the Hindi Film Music. In the scenario, however, few old stalwarts like Anil Biswas were firmly established in this industry.  During the year, another movie, having Anil Biswas's music was released. The movie was "Do Raha". The lead pair was Shekhar and Nalini Jaywant. The supporting artists were K.N.Singh, Murad, Agha, Jagjit Sethi and Protima Devi. composer Anil Biswas was mentor for Mukesh and Talat Mahmood. He was instrumental in furthering the singing carreer of both singers.  Talat's " Ae Dil Mujhe Aisi Jagah Le Chal", in film Arjoo, released in 1950 had become popular. The music of the song was by Anil Biswas. From that time, Talat had become Anil Biswas's favourite singer. This association continued in movie Do Raha as well.  Talat had three solos in the film...
    1. Mohabbat Tak Ki Maine.
    2. 2. Dilmein Basake Meet Banake
    3. Tera Khaya Dilse Bhulaya Nahi Kabhi.
All thes songs became raging hit. The song "Tera Khayal Dilse Bhulaya", was written by eminent Urdu Shayar Josh Malihabadi, whereas the song "Mohabbat Tark Ki Maine" was penned by Sahir Ludhianvi.

All the hopes and aspirations in life have dried up.  All the desires of love are abandoned. The world should be happy now that he had given up all the yearnings and longing. The heart, which is full of grief and turmoil, can't help thinking how and on what hope he had lived so far. His love was not fruitful, he could not own his beloved. However the joyous moments spent with the beloved in the dreamland of love cannot be forgotten. Not at this dejected state, the heart is empty of any hopes, and yearnings. Life was so unkind and full of sufferings and distress.

The powerful lyrics of Sahir, brings forth the miseries of unsuccessful love and the inevitable desolateness it brings, which engulfs the very foundation of life and personality traits. Talat Mahmood's velvet smooth voice convey the the agonies of grief stricken heart. The gentle quiver in his voice, effectively brings out the spasms of dejection gushing out from turmoil filled heart. Composer Anil Biswas's music is impeccable. All in all,  a song not to miss....
