Kaha Hai Tu Kaha Hai

Kaha Hai Tu Kaha Hai- Lata Mangeshkar-Film Naubahar 1952- Lyricist Nakshab- Music Roshan
The music of film Naubahar, released in 1952, was totally infliuenced by Lata's voice. Roshan utilised the divine and young voice of Lata to full extent. Lata sang following songs for Naubahar..

1. Er Mai To Prem Diwani
2. Unke Bulawe Pe Bole Mera dil
3. Dekho Ji Mera Jiya Chhuraye Liye Jay
4.Kaha Hai Tu Kaha Hai
5.Bhatke Hue Musafir

First three songs were depicting the happy mood of lovers whereas remaining two were sad ones, bringing out the spasms of agonies welling up from the heart due to separation from their beloved.  The story of the film revolves mainly around a love affair between blind wealthy businessman Ashok (Ashok Kumar) and a simple and humble village girl Jamna (Nalini Jaywant). Their meeting place is in a garden where she comes to perform pooja and he to play flute. Their love blossoms eventually. Ashok's father however is bent upon the marriage of Ashok to his wealty friend's daughter Kamala (Kuldip Kaur). When Ashok leaves Jamna to go to Mumbai for treatment on his eyes, it takes more than one month. In the meanwhile Jamna is devastated. She is not capable of sustaining the separation. She remains lost in his fond and affectionate memories and sings the song.

Absolutely beautiful... what a sublime and stirring melody from Roshan. The prelude itself has a touch of pathos. With touching Nakshab-lyrics, and a soul-stirring rendition from Lataji, can one remain unmoved by this song? Wonderful use of instruments by Roshan --  the percussion starting at about 0:40 is beautiful and so sublime as it supports other instruments in this slow and soft melody, allowing Lataji's voice to convey the deep emotions. A wonderful upload from a soundtrack that is akin to 24kt gold. Another soothing melody, expressing pathos of separation, from Lata-Roshan combination.

Lata had another sad solo in the film " Bhatke Hue Musafir". This song also shows the melancholic mood of Jamna, because of separation from her beloved.

All the songs by Lata in this film were musical gems. Roshan gave stellar performance in music department. Lata's divine and young voice adds to the beauty of songs.
