Koi Nahi Mera Is Duniyamein....

Koi Nahi Mera Is Duniyamein-Talat mahamood-Film Daag 1952- Lyricist Hasrat jaipuri- Music Shankar Jaikishan

Daag , released in 1952 was a romantic film produced and directed by Amiya Chakraborty. Dilip Kumar and Nimmi were in lead role. The music was given by Shankar Jaikishan duo. SJ had given equal scope to Talat Mahmood and Lata Mangeshkar in the music department. Talat had total three songs in the film

Ae Mera Dil Kahi Aur Chal (Happy and Sad version)
Hum Dard Ke Maronka Itna Hi  Fasana Hai
Koi Nahi Mera Is duniyamein.

All these songs , rendered in Talat's soft, Mellow and Velvet voice, brough forth the agnies arising out of dashed aspirations and hopes, the devastated state of mind, the dejection of this material world, oblivious to hero's miseries and finally abject surrender to cruel destiny. The song "Koi Nahi Mera Is Duniyamein" comes in the situation, when eventhough Shankar (Dilip Kumar) gives up alcohol, undergoes reforms and comes back to his village, is rejected by the father of his sweetheart Parvati , played by Nimmi. Her father feels that her future is not safe in the hands of alcoholic Shankar having mercurial nature. In addition to this he loses his mother. The death of his mother totally devastates him. The whole world crumbles around him. Overnight he becomes orphan. In this state of wrecked mind, he gives way to his bitterness through this song...

The weak hanging moon resembles the broken bangle of a widow, The clouds of  gloom and bleakness are converging in the sky. The stars are twinkling  lustureless. With his heart immersed in sobs and cries , he feels that there is nobody who cares for him . The whole world is ruined and unconcerned about his agonies. He has got luckless, sorrow filled life and that is his destiny. The youth which brings joy in other's life has brought nothing but dejection and distress. There are no tears of despair and despondency left in his eyes. They have already gone dry. The surrounding blossomed flowers are resemble the fresh bruises wrecked by savage heaven.  A dreaded pal of gloom has engulfed his life, in which even his own shadow has left his company. He is lonely very lonely with his soul bleeding of angst.

Hasrat's lyrics so powerful that every world of it heart wrenching and offers in dept peek into Shankar's grief stricken heart and his crumbling world. Talat's velvet, quivering voice depicts the waves of desperation and pains of unhappiness gushing out of his broken heart. SJ's music as usual , haunting. Dilip Kumar through his intensely emotional eyes and see through facial expressions , effectively displays his acting prowess to portray all encompassing sadness. The song perfectly fits to his Tragedy King image. All in all a song not to miss.

Another song in similar situation , depicting the sad feelings welling up from Shankar's heart , after Paro's father's rejection is " Hum dard Ke Maronka Itna Hi fasana Hai". It is equally haunting. Here is the song...
