Aakhomein Dil Hai Hothonpe Jaan....

Aakhomein Dil Hai, Hothonpe Jaan, Tum Kahan- Lata Mangeshkar- Film Naaz 1954-Lyrics Satyendra Asthaiya- Music Anil Biswas
After film Maan,  Naaz was another film launched in 1954, whose music was given by composer Anil Biswas. As in Maan, the music had dominating share of Lata's voice. This was a film with Arabic background, and it was the first Bollywood film  shot on foreign location. It was filmed in London and Cairo. Major part of the film was shot on the background of Gizza pyramids. Composer Anil Biswas therefore gave suitable music appropriate with Arabic background. Lata Mangeshkar had five solos in the film.
1. Zilmil Sitaronke Tale...
2. Ae Dil Dukhada Kise Soonaye
3. Aakhomein Dil Hai Hothomein Jaan
4. Katati Hai Ab To Zindagi
5. Mai Hoon Ujada Ashiayan

Out of this 'Katati Hai Ab To Zindagi, Marneke Intejar Mein' is a unforgettable and immortal masterpiese from composer Anil Biswas. Another beautifully composed solo song from this film ' Aakhomein Dil Hai, Hothonpe Jaan, Tum Kahan', is also by Lata's tender voice depicting the pangs of suffering and separation.

(With soulful eyes filled with deep feelings about the betrayal of her beloved and the resulting separation, she is calling her beloved. In the deepest chamber of her heart, She has kept hidden her aspirations and hopes. These hopes are keeping her restive but at the same time however keep eluding her world of emotions. Now even the the roads leading to her hopes also are becoming blurred gradually. She has asked her beloved's whereabouts to the bleak and gloomy evenings, to the barren ,devastated landscapes, but her calls have been returned back without any answer from the unconcerned , cruel and dispassionate walls  of this unmindful world, which does not have any interest in her miseries. Even the vast canopy of sky and expanse of land is heedless of her sorrows.)

Beautiful lyrics filled with pangs of separation, heart melting music and ardent rendering by Lata's emotion dipped voice, take this song to a new level and keep lingering in the listener's mind for long time.
