Taare Gin Gin Beeti saari raat- Lata mangeshkar- film Dhun 1953-Lyricist Kaifi Irfani- Music Madan Mohan

Dhun, released in 1953, was a film which had Raj & Nargis in lead pair. The songs were penned by Kaifi Irfani and it had the Midas touch of Madan Mohan's music. There were total twelve songs, which were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Rajkumari, Zohra, Rafi and Hemant Kumar. However out of these twelve songs only songs that became raging hit were those sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Lata's association with Madan mohan started from dilm Aada 1951, and continued till his death , and even after his death. In this journey they have given innumerable musical gems. Lata's divine honey dipped voice and Madan mohan's heavenly music had mesmerizing effect on many generations. While composer Ghulam Hyder introduced Lata to Hindi Film Industry, composers like Anil Biswas, C.Ramchandra and Madan Mohan shaped her career. Madan Mohan brought out the best virtues of Lata's tender voice.

The duet with Hemant Kumar is long forgotten, but all the solos of Lata were melodious with mellifluous harmony. The confluence of a divine golden voice and euphonious music has elevated these songs to heavenly level. The first song ' Badi barbadiyan lekar' is already covered in my earlier post.
